Innovations in Textiles 10 is a collaborative event in the St. Louis, MO region, that investigates the state of contemporary textile arts. Over a dozen nonprofit and private arts organizations join forces to present exhibitions related to fiber art created by national and international artists.

This exhibition is our Biennial Faculty Exhibition that features Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design’s faculty. Every two years the creative work of the artists who instruct in the studios of Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design are exhibited.
Workshop: 3 Days of Jewelry with Cindy Howenstein (Delmar Loop)

This workshop is designed for students excited to work in a three-day immersion of metalworking techniques. You will experiment with new methods, refine your technical skills, and enhance your design vocabulary while making one-of-a-kind jewelry.

Visiting Artist Workshop: Finding the Magic in Disappearing Fabrics with Cindy Hickok(Delmar Loop)

You stitch on this very special material, then dip it in water, and—VOILA!—the background disappears.  Stitching on water-soluble-fabric produces free-form images that can be used in numerous ways, from creating works of art to constructing lacy insets for garments.

In this workshop, you will learn how to sculpt the human head with amazing detail.  Individual projects will begin with the addition of simple facial features to an oval form, and will gradually evolve to the creation of a complex portrait with anatomical detail.

An invitational exhibition of innovative teapots made of clay, metal, glass and fiber. The teapot shape has been investigated by artists for centuries, challenging both the functional and non-functional concept of the form. Over 50 artists have been invited to continue this exploration in Interpretations, the 15th Biennial exhibit celebrating the teapot and its various artistic configurations.
