Guerra De La Paz: Follow the Leader [Grand Center]

The two artist team of Guerra De La Paz will reference the popular childhood game of Follow-The-Leader as they closely examine of the decline of our exemplary figures in leadership roles today. They will use all recycled clothing to communicate their ideas and also draw parallels between this harmless pastime and the complexities of hierarchy in society. This exhibition is in conjunction with Innovations in Textiles 9, a city wide event. |

Nnenna Okore is a Chicago based artist from Nigeria. The exhibition is inspired by the graceful movement of the Egret, also called 'Shokoloko' by her childhood peers. Nnenna use of materials and processes will yield dramatic sculptural and spatial compositions that mimic the very essence of this bird. This exhibition is in conjunction with Innovations in Textiles 9, a city wide event. |
