Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design Artists-in-Residence program supports emerging and mid-career artists who want to develop their art in a collaborative, community based arts center. This residency, set in the heart of the arts district of St. Louis, has the advantage of an urban environment – studio visits with local museum curators, gallerists and university faculty; access to a vibrant community of artists; and exposure to a broad audience. Craft Alliance encourages artists to explore and develop their studio practice.
The resident artists provide the public and students in Craft Alliance's educational and community programs the opportunity to learn and engage in the artist’s studio practice. Each year, Craft Alliance hosts three resident artists at a time for residencies lasting 6 or 12 months. Each artist works in one of four media: clay, fiber, metal, or wood. Artists-in-Residence work in studios adjacent to our classrooms, teach in our programs, and become a part of the Craft Alliance community.
