Rachel Akin received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1999 and MFA from Ohio University in 2006. Recently, she was a resident artist at Red Star Studios Ceramic Center in Kansas City where she was also a gallery assistant. She has numerous experiences teaching ceramics at universities and art centers. In 2008, she relocated to St. Louis and currently teaches at Forest Park Community College and Craft Alliance. She recently exhibited her work in “Art Outside” at Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood, Missouri and was invited to participate in “Material Attraction: Diverse Reactions” at the Jacoby Art Center in Alton, Illinois.
