ARTIST STATEMENT

This body of work is meant to push the boundaries of wearability and comfort.  The size and notions of the pieces seek to manifest themselves as psychological weight.  As extensions of the self, their physical characteristics lie somewhere between the fantastic and the real.

I am propelled in my work towards objects and things that elicit a duality of emotive response, creations that require both disgust and fascination.  I have found that the addition of found objects both adds to the history of the piece and lends itself to personal interpretation by the audience.  The object installs a narrative associated with each piece that is specific to the viewer.
