The Fashion Lab series kicked-off in 2011 to explore the craft of fashion, the art of fashion and the art that references fashion by presenting five to six events annually. These events are presented by Craft Alliance and in partnership with other organizations such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Washington University of St. Louis’ Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. Members receive exclusive invitations to previews of the events or event related dinners/ cocktail parties.

January 12 & 13: Fashion Unveiled: Launch of The Fashion Lab with Ecco Domani nominated designer Timo Weiland at Craft   Alliance’s gallery in the Kranzberg Arts Center Grand Center; trunkshow and cocktail party, followed by a dinner with the   designer at a private home.  (dinner exclusive for $1,000 level members) >>Click here to see images from this event!

February 10: Costume Ball Kick-off at Saks Fifth Avenue: Fabulous cocktail party at Saks Fifth Avenue in
  its Plaza Frontenac store. Saks will present one of its favorite designers to kick off Craft Alliance’s ARTrageous Costume Ball.   Select the ultimate outfit for the Costume Ball and receive a 15% discount when you buy your ticket to the Costume Ball that   evening! >>Click here to see images from this event!

  A special art installation at Saks fifth Avenue’s store in Plaza Frontenac by Craft Alliance artist Carrie Scanga will be on display   during the month of February.

March 10: Yarn lecture with Timo Weiland at Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. April 8: ARTrageous Costume Ball: Gala with focus on fashion, honoring Washington University Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts’ Professor of Fashion Design, Jeigh Singleton. Proceeds of the gala benefit CA’s exhibition, education and outreach programs. (The ARTrageous Costume Ball is a separate ticketed event)

June 1: Posh Pool Party - Poolside cocktail party with the internationally renowned fashion house FENDI. Exclusive Installation and Trunk Show of Fendi's Fall 2011 collection in a sumptuous poolside setting at the elegant home of David & Susan Sherman. Members only event.

June 2: Fendi Trunk Show - Preview Fendi's Fall 2011 Collection. Shopping, Champagne and Lite Bites from 10am-4pm. Open to the public. RSVP required. Click here to view images from the event >>

September 15 : Yarn lecture with Guerra de la Paz at the Kemper Art Museum lecture room 103 at 6:30pm. (The Fashion Lab’s Yarn lecture series is sponsored by Alison & John Ferring, in partnership with the Sam Fox School.)

September 16: Exhibition of the site-specific installation work of the nationally renowned artist duo Guerra de la Paz exhibition at CA’s gallery in the Kranzberg Arts Center in Grand Center. Free and open to the public. Donate any unwanted clothes or shoes during our clothing drive, Undress For Art!

October 5: Yarn Lecture Series with New York designer Todd Thomas at Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. Todd dresses the likes of Katy Perry, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cindy Sherman, and is responsible for the Victoria’s Secret fashion Show. October 6-November 2: Craft Alliance, in partnership with the Sam fox School of Design & Visual Arts, is hosting a one-man exhibit at the Des Lee Gallery, featuring the stunning creations of New York fashion designer Todd Thomas.
The exhibition, Off the Rails, opens on Thursday, October 6 and runs the entire month of October, follows Thomas' audacious career, starting with his local beginning here in Saint Louis. Currently, Thomas couldn't live in a more glamorous world, designing for the likes of Katy Perry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Deborah Harry & Blondie, Cindy Sherman and Parker Posey. He created Deborah Harry's distinctive look for her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he's dressed up Sex and the City, helped Jennifer Lopez in developing her fashion line, and sharpened up the Scissor Sisters. He has collaborated with a veritable Who's Who of the most important fashion editors, stylist and photographers, including Katie Grand, Tonne Goodman, Lori Goldstein, Steven Meisel, Patrick Demarchelier and Terry Richardson. And for the last eight consecutive seasons, Thomas has been responsible for the ultimate glamour event: The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, creating fantastic, opulent works of art to adorn the most beautiful and well-known super models in the world.

November 2:
Trunkshow - Tony Duquette by Hutton Wilkinson. At Saks Fifth Avenue with a unique trunk show, Champagne reception and book signing.
