Armstrong Fox textiles began in September 2004 when textile designers Lesley Armstrong and Anke Fox formed a partnership to pursue the creation of beautiful woven products made from high-quality yarn with an appeal to customers who want to express themselves in unique and tactile clothing or interior design.
The artists bring together years of experimentation and training in textile arts. Armstrong is drawn to the structural aspect of textiles - the physical nature and the dimensionality that can be expressed in wovens, knits, and special finishes. While Fox is drawn to the sensuous and animate nature of cloth and continues to explore the integration of textile structure, materials, and process in new and imaginative ways. Created on a vintage Scottish loom the styles emphasize unique textural and visual effects influenced by the artists’ Nova Scotian surroundings.
