Boar Glass studio was founded by Bengt  Hokanson & Trefny Dix in 1996 in Burnsville, North Carolina. Bengt Hokanson graduated from Tulane University in 1993 with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in glass blowing. Trefny Dix graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1993 with a BFA.

in sculpture. The blown glass pieces produced at Boar Glass have been influenced by world textiles, urban graffiti, Japanese block prints, landscapes and undersea life forms.  Bengt and Trefny use a combination of traditional Swedish and Italian glass blowing techniques as well as experimental techniques as needed to create their work. The blown glass pieces are an exploration of pure color relationships and the forms that emphasize the colors movement throughout the piece.
