Artist Kari Stringer has a passion for all things vintage and a love of jewelry. She marries her two interests by hand-cutting shapes from old coffee, candy, tea, cookie and tobacco tins. She then fashions them into one-of-a-kind wearable pieces of art jewelry using patinaed sterling silver chain, ear wires and clasps. She utilizes the vivid colors, great typefaces, and wonderful subjects from these vintage tins and gives them a new life by changing the context in which they are viewed. No two pieces of her jewelry are alike.
