David Jusseaume is a blown glass artist who was born and raised in Massachusetts. In 1995 he began working as an apprentice in Providence, Rhode Island. David had always been intrigued by objects created from molten glass. He learned and worked in the R.I. studio for six years while traveling to the studio school at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. He studied under several American and Italian Masters, developing his love for the clean Venetian style of glass blowing. David is fascinated by the elegant goblets and vessels that were coming out of Italy in the early 20th century. This has shaped his style and the skill level he strives for. For David, it is all about the technique. He believes that he should strive for the ability to create an object by hand with the simple tools used for centuries; he doesn’t allow himself to take any short cuts.
