GALLERY SHOP :: THOMAS MANN
Thomas Mann has been an active participant in the contemporary American craft scene for more than twenty-eight years. His approach to making jewelry combines industrial materials with romantic imagery to create a design system he calls Techno Romantic. His work is shown worldwide and has been a fixture at Craft Alliance Gallery for more than 10 years.

Mann was born in 1947 in Allentown, PA. He received a BA in Performing Arts with emphasis on set design from East Stroudsburg University. After a part-time silversmithing apprenticeship, Mann began his own entrepreneurial efforts operating a summer shop at the Jersey Shore from 1968-72. He has been a self-employed full-time jewelry designer since 1970 and has operated studios in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. He currently resides in New Orleans where he has jewelry and sculpture studios and Thomas Mann Gallery.

Mann also works in the realm of sculpture and furniture design and has completed several public art works which are located in New Orleans. Since 1989 Mann has conducted his Design for Survival workshops, which provide artists with entrepreneurial tools necessary to survive in the economic environment.
