Want to add a touch of gold to your jewelry without breaking the bank? This beginner-friendly class introduces you to gold-filled materials—a high-quality, durable alternative to solid gold. Gold-filled metal consists of a thick layer of gold that is permanently bonded to a base metal, making it more resistant to tarnishing and wear than gold plating while offering the beauty and warmth of real gold at a fraction of the cost. In this hands-on class, you’ll start by making a simple wire ring, then progress to adding a pre-made bezel cup and setting a predetermined stone. With step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn the fundamentals of working with gold-filled wire and gain confidence in basic jewelry-making techniques. By the end of the session, you’ll have a professionally crafted gold-filled ring—perfect for wearing or gifting!
