ArtSmarts at Craft Alliance

Every year, Saint Louis Public Schools and Craft Alliance team up to offer ArtSmarts. ArtSmarts is a free community program designed for high school and middle school students in St. Louis Public Schools to explore their creativity and contemporary craft arts.
Craft Alliance’s ArtSmarts community program gives students the opportunity to experience contemporary craft via engaging gallery visits and hands-on studio practice. Under the guidance of our expert teaching artists, students spend a day at Craft Alliance studios learning techniques and processes in woodworking, glass, metalsmithing, ceramics, fibers, or print and paper arts. This engaging and educational experience helps students develop their creative skills while creating unique works of art.

After your field trip to Craft Alliance, ArtSmarts continues with the option for an in-house artist workshop at your school, making it a comprehensive art experience for your students!

Participation is FREE for St. Louis Public Schools, including transportation to and from Craft Alliance for qualifying schools. If your school is not a part of SLPS, Craft Alliance does offer ArtSmarts to neighboring school districts that meet requirements. We also offer fee-based programs for private schools, groups, and organizations.
