Refine your techniques and push your creative boundaries in this advanced-level course designed for students with prior metalsmithing experience. In Advanced Metalsmithing, you’ll work on independent or guided projects while exploring more complex techniques such as stone setting, advanced soldering, hinge construction, hollow forms, and surface embellishment.
With support from a professional metalsmith, students will receive personalized instruction tailored to their goals, whether you're developing a cohesive body of work, preparing a portfolio, or mastering specific skills. Emphasis will be placed on design development, craftsmanship, and finishing techniques.
This is the perfect course for students ready to deepen their technical skillset and creative voice in the metals studio.
Prerequisite: Prior experience in metalsmithing or completion of an intermediate-level course.
