Dive into the world of glass bead making in this fun and fast-paced 4-hour workshop! You’ll learn how to safely operate a torch to melt glass and create perfectly round beads. As you gain hands-on experience, you'll explore different shapes and enhance your beads with decorative techniques such as adding dots, striping colors, and pulling glass stringers (heating and pulling glass to create a thin elongated piece of glass) to create unique designs. Whether you're a beginner or looking to expand your skills, this workshop will provide you with the tools and techniques to craft a collection of beautiful, one-of-a-kind glass beads. By the end of the session, you’ll have a treasure trove of beads to wear or use in your own jewelry creations! Beads will go through an annealing process to temper the glass for strength—your instructor will set a pickup time. Traveling? We can mail your beads to you! Each student will prepare, sprue, and cast one flask using the lost-wax casting method. Bring your fully carved wax models or natural objects ready for casting to the first session. Instruction will focus on refining professional spruing techniques, investing, burnout, and centrifugal casting. This workshop is perfect for those looking to build on foundational skills and complete personal casting projects. Craft your own beautiful and functional cutting boards in this beginner-friendly woodworking class! Over six weeks, students will learn essential woodworking skills including measuring, cutting, gluing, sanding, and finishing hardwoods to create both edge-grain and end-grain cutting boards.

With guidance from an experienced instructor, you'll explore woodshop safety, tool use (including planers, jointers, table saws, and sanders), and finishing techniques to enhance the natural beauty and durability of your boards. You’ll leave class with multiple completed pieces—perfect for your kitchen or as handmade gifts.

No prior woodworking experience is necessary. This is a great introduction to the tools and techniques of the wood studio.

Learn the art of making mesmerizing glass marbles in this hands-on beginner-friendly lampworking workshop! Using a torch, gravity, and shaping tools, you'll discover how to melt and form molten glass into smooth, polished spheres with vibrant swirls and patterns inside. This workshop introduces you to basic flame-working techniques, including gathering glass on a mandrel, color application, heat control, and marble shaping with a graphite mold. Perfect for beginners, this is a great way to experience working with hot glass in a focused and rewarding project. You'll leave with several unique marbles of your own creation—and the foundational skills to keep exploring glasswork.
