The Unbirthday Party celebrates our 60th anniversary year with a topsy-turvy version of the beloved biennial teapot exhibition at Craft Alliance. The exhibition is inspired by Lewis Caroll’s books, in particular, the Mad Hatter’s tea party in The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland and the “Unbirthday Party ” as described by Humpty Dumpty in Carroll’s sequel Through the Looking Glass (the two were merged into one in the 1951 Disney movie).
The exhibition is presented as an immersive experience, inviting visitors to be guests at a tea party in which the rules have all changed, and every day is an opportunity to celebrate your UnBirthday.
Craft Alliance is a nonprofit art center dedicated to nurturing community and creativity through contemporary craft.
