Youth Art Camp Frequently Asked Questions

Ages

Camps are designed for ages 7-14, with separate groups for 7-9 years old and 10-14 years old. Campers must be 10+ for glass or metals camps using torches.

 

Schedule

 Each camp lasts for 3 hours. Morning camps meet 9 am-12 pm, afternoon camps meet 2-5 pm. Before Care is available from 8:30-9 am for morning camps and 1:30-2 pm for afternoon camps. After Care is available from 5-5:30 pm for afternoon camps only. 

 

Drop-off/Pick-up

Bring your camper to the front entrance for daily health screenings and check-in procedures. Display the Craft Alliance sign with your camper’s name in your passenger window during pick-up, and a staff member will escort your camper to your vehicle.

 

Arrival

Daily screening at the front entrance. Before Care drop-off starts at 8:30 am for morning campers and 1:30 pm for afternoon campers. Regular drop-off is between 8:50-9 am for morning campers and 1:50-2 pm for afternoon campers. Do not arrive more than 10 minutes early.

 

First Day

Complete daily screening and check-in at the front entrance. Bring a wrapped snack and water bottle for your camper.

 

Departure:

Pick up your camper at the front entrance. After Care pick-up is between 5-5:30 pm. Campers must have a parent or approved guardian to leave. Late pick-ups will result in After Care charges.

 

Parking:

Free parking is available in the lot on the East side of the building or on Delmar Blvd.

 

Instructors:

Camp instructors hold college degrees and are practicing artists and teachers with background checks.

 

Teacher/Student Ratio:

The ratio varies from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on the camp type.

 

Preparation:

Bring a snack and water bottle for each camp. No lunch period is provided. Dress for fun, sometimes messy, art experiences. If your child will be in melting metals or flaming glass, please provide a long sleeve, non-flammable shirt. Only close-toed shoes are allowed.

 

Parent Attendance

Parents cannot stay with campers during camp.

 

Waiting Lists:

Wait lists are available for full camps. Contact the registrar to join a waitlist.

 

Make-up Days:

Not available due to limited space and pre-registration requirements.

 

Artwork:

Campers can take home projects, except for clay projects which will be ready for pick-up three weeks after the camp ends.
