Introduction to Glass Beadmaking

Explore the captivating art of lampworking in this beginner-friendly course! Using a small torch, you’ll learn how to manipulate molten glass to create unique and colorful glass beads. Through step-by-step instruction, you’ll discover techniques like using glass stringers (thin rods of glass), frits (crushed glass particles), and cane (thin glass rods) to add texture and decorative designs to your beads. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll learn how to turn your glass creations into wearable art, adding personal flair to each piece. No prior experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and creativity!

All necessary safety gear will be provided, including safety glasses, gloves, and aprons. You must wear close-toed shoes, and natural fiber clothing and long hair must be tied back to ensure your safety while working in the studio.
