Description

"Spend four fun-filled hours learning the art of glass beadmaking! In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to safely operate a torch and melt glass to create beautifully shaped beads. Students will start by pulling and shaping basic round beads, then explore a variety of decorative techniques, including adding colorful dots, creating stripes, and wrapping thin rods of glass—called stringers—around their beads for extra detail. By the end of the session, you’ll have a small collection of unique, hand-crafted glass beads to treasure. No experience necessary—just bring your creativity!

Safety Note: This workshop is for ages 16+. If you require special accommodation for this workshop, please contact grant.benoit@craftalliance.org. All materials are included in your materials fee. All necessary safety gear will be provided, including safety glasses, gloves, and aprons. You must wear close-toed shoes, and natural fiber clothing and long hair must be tied back to ensure your safety while working in the studio. "
