Description

"In this exciting, hands-on class, you’ll get the opportunity to work in both the glass and metals studios to create a beautiful, bezel-set glass cabochon jewelry piece. This class is perfect for those who want to explore both glassworking and metalworking in a single project!

The first part of the class will focus on glass, where you'll create your own glass cabochon. You’ll learn basic glassworking techniques, including melting and shaping the glass to form a smooth, rounded cabochon. Then, in the metals studio, you’ll craft a custom metal bezel to securely set your glass cabochon. You’ll explore techniques like measuring, cutting, soldering, and shaping metal, all while ensuring a professional finish for your piece.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a stunning, one-of-a-kind bezel-set glass cabochon ready to wear or gift!

No prior glass or metalworking experience is required—just bring your creativity and excitement for new techniques!

Safety Note: This workshop is for ages 16+. If you require special accommodation for this workshop, please contact grant.benoit@craftalliance.org. All materials are included in your materials fee. You must wear closed-toed shoes, and natural fiber clothing and long hair must be tied back to ensure your safety while working in the studio."
