Glass Sculpting 104 (soft)
Description
"In this beginner-friendly glass sculpting class, students will learn the fundamentals of working with borosilicate glass (boro), a durable and heat-resistant type of glass, to create beautiful sculptures. You’ll start by learning the basics of shaping glass on a mandrel, focusing on how to control the heat, mix colors, and use special tools to shape and texture the glass.
Throughout the course, you’ll also learn how to:
Create patterns and designs using hand-pulled cane (long, thin pieces of glass) and twisted stringers (fine glass threads) for added detail
Sculpt a variety of fun and creative pieces, such as animals, flowers, or even mythological creatures
Use the magnifying properties of glass to add intricate details and texture to your sculptures
This course is perfect for beginners who want to explore the world of glass sculpting and learn how to make simple but stunning pieces. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment and grow your skills, with plenty of guidance along the way.
