Description

"This advanced two-week course is intended for students who have completed Casting 1 or an equivalent introductory casting course. Each student will prepare, sprue, and cast one flask using the lost-wax casting method. Bring your fully carved wax models or natural objects ready for casting to the first session. Instruction will focus on refining professional spruing techniques, investing, burnout, and centrifugal casting. This workshop is perfect for those looking to build on foundational skills and complete personal casting projects.

Prerequisite: Students must have completed Casting 1 at Craft Alliance (or have comparable experience with instructor permission).

Safety Note: This workshop is for ages 16+. If you require special accommodations for this workshop, please contact grant.benoit@craftalliance.org. All materials are included in your materials fee. All necessary safety gear will be provided, including safety glasses, gloves, and aprons. You must wear closed-toe shoes and natural fiber clothing, and long hair must be tied back to ensure your safety while working in the studio."
