Handbuilding Independent Projects

Description

Ready to bring your ceramic ideas to life? In this independent handbuilding workshop, you’ll have the freedom to work on your own unique projects while receiving expert guidance along the way. Whether you want to create a sculpture, a set of functional pottery, or a decorative piece, this class is your chance to explore handbuilding techniques at your own pace.

You’ll learn how to mold and shape clay using slabs, coils, and pinching, and experiment with surface textures, stamps, and carving tools to personalize your work. Throughout the workshop, you’ll receive one-on-one support from the instructor to help refine your technique and guide you through the creative process.

By the end of the class, you’ll have a set of completed handbuilt pieces, ready to be fired and glazed. This class is perfect for beginners and more experienced students alike who want to experiment and create their own clay masterpieces!

Note: This course is for ages 16+. If you require special accommodation for this course, please contact grant.benoit@craftalliance.org. All materials included. Students should be aware that they may get messy while participating in class and should wear closed toed shoes—aprons are available in the studio.
