Description

"Discover the art of Coptic bookbinding, one of the oldest bookbinding techniques, dating back over 2,000 years! This beautiful and functional binding method creates a flexible book that lays completely flat when open, making it perfect for sketchbooks, journals, albums, or artist books.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the basics of bookbinding, including how to stitch a Coptic binding—a visible, decorative thread pattern that holds the pages together without glue. You'll also craft a hardcover book using decorative papers for a personalized touch.

No prior experience is needed! Come enjoy a fun, hands-on evening and leave with your own handcrafted journal, ready to fill with sketches, notes, or memories.

Note: This workshop is for ages 16+. If you require special accommodation for this workshop, please contact grant.benoit@craftalliance.org. "
