Description

"In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to create a beautiful, personalized keepsake box using bookbinding techniques! This class is perfect for beginners and will guide you through every step of the process to craft a stylish, functional box to store your cherished memories.

You’ll start by selecting decorative papers to cover your box, then learn simple yet effective bookbinding techniques such as folding, gluing, and sewing to create a sturdy structure. You'll also learn how to create a secure, hinged lid for easy opening and closing.

As part of the class, you'll get hands-on experience with essential bookbinding tools like bone folders, awls, and needles. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to add your own creative touches with decorative elements like stitching, embossing, and layering patterns.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind keepsake box to hold photos, letters, jewelry, or any other special items. Whether you’re making a thoughtful gift or a personal project, this class will teach you the fundamentals of bookbinding while helping you craft something beautiful and meaningful in just a few hours.

Note: This course is for ages 16+. If you require special accommodation for this course, please contact grant.benoit@craftalliance.org. All materials included. Students should wear closed toed shoes."
