Description

"Discover the fundamentals of metalsmithing in this six-week beginner-friendly course! Designed for students with little or no prior experience, this class introduces traditional techniques such as sawing, piercing, forming, soldering, surface embellishment, and finishing. Using these essential skills, you'll create unique jewelry, functional objects, and decorative pieces. With hands-on instruction and access to all necessary tools, as well as copper and brass sheet materials, you'll build confidence in working with metal while exploring your creativity. Whether you're interested in jewelry making or metal arts, this course provides a strong fo undation to bring your ideas to life!

Safety Note: This workshop is for ages 16+. If you require special accommodation for this workshop, please contact grant.benoit@craftalliance.org. All materials are included in your materials fee. All necessary safety gear will be provided, including safety glasses, gloves, and aprons. You must wear close-toed shoes, and natural fiber clothing and long hair must be tied back to ensure your safety while working in the studio. "
