Weaving Hand Towels
Description
"In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to weave your own set of handwoven hand towels using a rigid heddle loom. A rigid heddle loom is a simple, compact tool perfect for beginners, and it will allow you to create beautiful, functional towels in no time.
You'll start by learning the basics of the loom, including how to warp the loom (set up the threads) and weave different patterns. You’ll experiment with yarns, colors, and textures to create unique hand towels that are as stylish as they are practical. We’ll cover techniques like plain weave (the basic weaving pattern) and how to add small decorative touches to your design.
By the end of the class, you'll have at least two hand towels that you’ve woven yourself—perfect for your kitchen, bathroom, or as thoughtful handmade gifts.
No prior weaving experience is necessary—just bring your creativity, and we’ll walk you through every step of the process!
Note: This course is for ages 16+. If you require special accommodation for this course, please contact grant.benoit@craftalliance.org. All materials included. Students should wear closed toed shoes."
